come to me

come to me in a dream deep in the night
come to me a ghost flickering by candlelight
come to me in any color you choose to be
just not that memory

come to me with your dark Appalachian eyes
come to me hiding behind a torn disguise
come to me with your painful honesty
just not that memory

(in perfume rain of louring mist
quiescent gray or slivers that pierce
the end of day, bleeding
upon the edge)

come to me the joy of a glorious death
come to me a word of truth in every breath
come to me on a cross to set the world free
just not that memory

the arrangement of your words

are like the elements of a drug

they make me high

they make me low

dangerous words

pilfer your soul

for words

to intrigue whims

and games of love

they are exquisite

covered in his ghost’s pale blood

but, you are his ghost

his untouchable

so the blood is yours

or at least shared

from the penetration

of dangerous words

yet, it’s quiet simple

he is yours

but you

will never be his

thus, the never ending danger

of words

in war

in battle

in love

by the words

and sheer genius

of her

i bow

and bleed

my words

my words are empty

shells with no emotion

each a little prison

with no message

i miss your legs first, then

your extremely rare, collectors item smile

and finally

your brilliant assortment

of words

invisible pieces
of you
float like feathers
each one
a different colored
